About Virginia
Virginia Lofton is a practicing family law attorney and mediator located in Parker, Colorado. Ms. Loftonhas dedicated her practice to family law issues, including divorce, legal separation, custody, child support, and maintenance and offers mediation services in the area of family law.
As a law student, Ms. Lofton completed an internship with the Denver City Attorney’s Office, Municipal Department and participated in VITA, Volunteer Income Assistance Program, assisting low-income taxpayers in preparing their tax returns. In addition, Ms. Lofton participated in Metro Volunteer Lawyers’ Family Law Court Program. This program allowed Ms. Lofton to represent low-income parties in court during their divorce proceedings.
Ms. Lofton is a current member of the Colorado Bar Association, Arapahoe County Bar Association, Family Law Section of the Colorado Bar Association, and the Mediation Association of Colorado. Ms. Lofton currently serves on the Access to Justice Committee with the 18th Judicial District, as chair of the Family Law Pro Se Clinic in Arapahoe County District Court, and the Board of Directors for the Arapahoe County Bar Association.
In addition, Ms. Lofton is a former volunteer mediator with Jefferson County Mediation Services in Golden, Colorado. Ms. Lofton is currently an active volunteer and presenter at the Women’s Divorce Workshop held monthly in Parker, Colorado.
As a former volunteer with Jefferson County Mediation Services, Ms. Lofton assisted parties in resolving their family disputes without extensive involvement from the courts. Ms. Lofton has completed 40 hours of training in the theory and practice of mediation and continues to participate in further training to strengthen her skills in the area of mediation.
Ms. Lofton is an adjunct professor at Arapahoe Community College teaching Family Law and Bankruptcy Law in the Paralegal Program.
Along with running a law practice, Ms. Lofton spends time with her two adult children, dogs and horses. She is an avid equestrian and enjoys barrel racing at rodeos throughout the state of Colorado.
